X2Go: The Gathering 2017 @ Location to be determined
Date: 2017-09-22 to 2017-09-24
Three-day event at $LOCATION
$LOCATION options:
All locations are aimed at a “work and play” gathering.
Confirmed:
- LinuxHotel, Essen, Germany is available.
- Pro: We've been there numerous times, and know what to expect
- Pro: Really good rental conditions, see: https://www.linuxhotel.de/community.html / http://www.linuxhotel.de/community.en.html, hotel style rooms, youth hostel-like service, recreational facilities available, group entertainment available in the evening
- Con: Long traveling distance for quite a few core team members
- shackspace, Stuttgart, Germany is available.
- Pro: Site itself is available for free
- Pro: Site is a lot closer to quite a few core team members → We could extend the event by a few hours
- Pro: New evening entertainment options for recurring visitors
- Con: we would have to rent regular hotel rooms in the vicinity → more expensive
Under Investigation:
- Treuchtlingen Forsthaus
- Pro: Site is a lot closer to quite a few core team members → We could extend the event by a few hours
- Pro: New evening entertainment options for recurring visitors
- Con: Still lacking on-site contact person
- Con: Single and double rooms at nearby University dorm available, but no reliable pricing info yet

- Verschwoerhaus, Ulm, Germany
- Reason: Key members of the event site are impossible to work with

Room Cleaning Rage
- If Linuxhotel == $LOCATION, we need to clean the rooms ourselves, that's one of the reasons why the rates are so cheap
- (for the other locations, this is TBD)
- If Linuxhotel == $LOCATION, ROOMS MUST BE CLEANED OF TRASH AND CLEARED OF YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS BY 0900 hours/09am local time already!
- stowing of personal belongings in $SAFEPLACE
Leaving $LOCATION
- departure is around 1400 hours/2:00pm local time for most of the participants - 1700 hours/5:00pm local time for those wanting to stay longer
