x2goclient is the client part of x2go. It should be installed on a client computer to access a x2goserver running on another machine. x2goclient will provide you the possibility to access the romote running desktop, exchange files with it and to redirect the sound form the session on the server to the client. x2goclient can be started via the Desktop Environment's menu or by using the command line. Some options are available from command line only.

After the installation of x2goclient (Tarball, Debian, Ubuntu, MacOS X, Windows) x2go can be found in the menu of your Desktop Environment. It will be integrated inside the topic “internet”.

After the first start two windows will be opened. After adding all required session informations, only one window will appear

x2goclient options:
  --help-pack              Show available pack methods
  --no-menu                Hide menu-/toolbar, default (No)
  --maximize               Start client maximized, default (No)
  --hide                   Hide client (start hidden), default (No)
  --pgp-card               Use openPGP Card authentification, default (No)
  --add-to-known-hosts     Add RSA key fingerprint to .ssh/known_hosts in case of "authenticity of server can't be established"
  --ssh-port               use this tcp/ip port for connection, default (22)
  --client-ssh-port        local ssh port (for filesystem export), default (22)

  --user                   Preselection of user at client startup (LDAP mode)

  --pack                   Set default pack method, default '16m-jpeg'
  --quality                Set default image quality(0-9), default 9
  --set-kbd                Overwrite current keyboard settings, no by default
  --kbd-layout             set keyboard layout, default 'de'
  --kbd-type               set keyboard type, default 'pc105/de'
  --sound                  Activate sound for session, no by default
  --sound-system           which soundsystem use: arts or esd, defaults arts
  --ldap                   Start with LDAP support, no by default
  --basedn                 Base DN to search in LDAP
