Samples

A web player with a playlist containing all samples can be found at http://ionic.de/x2go/bugs/pulse/player/.
For individual samples, please use the links provided above.

Samples can be uploaded via the Sample Uploader

Download and install Audacity 2.0, then the liblame plugin to be able to convert raw audio data to MP3 files.

To record a sample on Microsoft Windows 7, please either use the stereo mix option, if your driver supports it (see this article for information on how to active the stereo mix), or follow the following instructions:

  1. get and install virtual audio device
  2. prepare your browser for playback
  3. go to start
  4. go to all programs
  5. go to virtual audio capturer
  6. open Record using it for x seconds
  7. input the number of seconds to record (400 for the Flash version, 180 for the HTML5 version)
  8. select the file name to record to (make sure to name it something.wav)
  9. wait for cmd.exe to come up and ffmpeg to indicate/start recording
  10. start playback in your browser
  11. once the playback is done, WAIT for a file explorer window to pop up
  12. open something.wav with Audacity

Once you've got the sample, follow these steps:

  1. delete the silence before and after the recording (select, press the delete key)
  2. go to File
  3. go to Export
  4. select “MP3 files” in field “Save as type”
  5. input file name (something.mp3)
  6. click “Options…”
  7. select Bit Rate Mode “Constant”
  8. select Quality 160kbps
  9. select Channel Mode “stereo”
  10. click Ok
  11. click Save
  12. upload the sample
